RSS (Real Simple Syndication) is a web standard for publishing regular updates of web-based content. It allows you to identify the content you like and have it delivered directly to you. It takes the hassle out of having to go from site to site to find the latest updates.
The first thing you need is something called an RSS news reader. There are two main types of readers: installable desktop programs and web-based services.
There are many readers available. Different readers work on different operating systems, so you will need to take this into account. Some browsers, including Firefox, Opera, Internet Exporer (after Version 6) and Safari, have functionality that automatically displays RSS feeds. For more details on these, please check their websites.
Below are some RSS news reader suggestions to get you started. Please note: ASCBC is not responsible for the content of external websites, nor does it endorse any of the services or applications listed.
The link below is to the RSS feed that is currently available on the IWBF website. However, Internet Explorer 6 will not display RSS/XML files. To view the RSS/XML when using Internet Explorer 6, right click the link or the orange button and save the RSS file to your computer. You can then open it in a text editor or other program.

RSS saves time. ASCBC uses RSS to deliver the latest news, changes to the web site and resources relevent to our College. So instead of browsing the ASCBC website, RSS automatically tells you when new items are listed in each of those areas.
RSS puts the power in your hands: you only receive the information you are interested in. We do not collect any information (including email addresses) from subscriptions to our RSS feed.
